You’ve likely heard of the new generation online 3D shed builders, which are taking over the typical means of shed shopping. What’s all the fuss about?
Using an online 3D builder might sound risky because you might wonder if the building you are purchasing is going to meet with your needs. With the new technology available in the Colorado Sheds shed builder, we can make sure you have everything needed to make sure you design will fit your requirements.

Using the 3D Shed Builder

1. Open the Shed Builder
Click the "Build Your Own" in the website header or below. It will take you to our Online 3D Shed Builder application which is stored on a page with a URL starting with “app.coloradosheds.com“.
2. Choose your shed style
Once you are inside the 3D Shed builder application, you can select the style of your shed. Here is a list of the available styles that we manufacture:
- Gable Style
- Gable XL Style
- Barn Style
- Barn XL Style
- Tackroom Style
- Studio Style
Choose the style that you like!
3. Choose your Shed size & Footprint
You can choose your structure’s size on this page. It might be looking confusing for the first time, but it will get way too easy to use once you realize that you can actually filter the sizes.
Using the size filters as you looking for the sizes would demonstrate the options for you and only display the sizes that you are looking for.
4. Confirm the floor plan
Once you have selected your shed’s style and size, you will arrive to 3D view of the online shed builder.
On the left menu, you will see “How Big Should My Shed Be” option. Click on it to see the floor plan of your shed.
Not just a blank floor plan, you can use the bottom menu containing images of objects such as ATV, bed, bike, computer table, sofa, and other items you may want to store inside the shed.
This option allows you to see if you can fit the things you are planning to keep inside your shed.
5. Choose your siding options
On the left menu, you will see “Siding Options” option. Click on it to see the siding material and color options.
You can find “Siding Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to select what kind of siding material you want to use. Here is a list of the available siding materials that we provide:
- Unpainted Duratemp Siding
- Painting Duratemp Siding
- T1-11 Siding (Unstained)
- Metal Siding
- Board & Batten w/ Stain
- Log Siding w/ Stain
- Painted Duratemp Siding w/ Cedar Trim
Choose the siding material that you like!
6. Choose your trim options
On the left menu, you will see “Trim Options” option. Click on it to see the trim material and color options.
You can find “Trim Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to select what kind of trim material and color you want to use. Here is a list of the available siding materials that we provide:
- Finished Cedar Trim
- Unfinished Cedar Trim
Choose the trim material and color that you like!
7. Choose your roof options
On the left menu, you will see “Roof Options” option. Click on it to see the roof material and color options.
You can find “Roof Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to select what kind of roof material and color you want to use. Here is a list of the available roof materials that we provide:
- Metal Roof
- Architectural Shingle Roof
Choose the roof material and color that you like!
8. Choose your door options. (Required)*
On the left menu, you will see “Door Options” option. Click on it to see the door material and type options.
You can find “Door Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to filter what kind of door material and type you want to use. Here is a list of the available door materials that we provide:
- Fiberglass
- Steel
- Wood
Choose the door material and type that you like!
9. Choose your window options
On the left menu, you will see “Window Options” option. Click on it to see the door material and type options.
You can find “Window Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to filter what kind of window material and type you want to use. Here is a list of the available window materials that we provide:
- Aluminum
- Vinyl
- Wood
Choose the window material and type that you like!
10. Choose if you want to add a porch
On the left menu, you will see “Porch Options” option. Click on it to see the available porch options.
You can find “Additional Porch Materials” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to add or remove a “Deck” to your shed.
Additional porch options will not be shown in the in the 3D builder, but it will be included.
Choose if you would like to add a porch or deck to your shed!
11. Choose if you want to add shelves
On the left menu, you will see “Interior Options” option. Click on it to see the available interior options.
You can find “Interior Options” such as shelves and more on the bottom part of the application. It will allow you to add or remove a “Shelf” to your shed.
Choose if you would like to add a shelf to your shed!
12. Choose if you want to add shutters or flower boxes
On the left menu, you will see “Exterior Options” option. Click on it to see the available exterior options.
You can find “Exterior Options” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to filter what kind of exterior options want to include. Here is a list of the available exterior options that we provide:
- Shutter Set
- Flower Box
Choose the exterior options that you like!
13. Choose if you want to add insulation to your shed
On the left menu, you will see “Insulation Options” option. Click on it to see the available insulation options.
You can find “Insulation Options” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to choose what kind of insulation options you want to include.
At the moment we only provide R16 Floor Insulation.
14. Choose if you want to add any structural options to your shed
On the left menu, you will see “Structural Options” option. Click on it to see the available structural options.
You can find “Structural Options” on the bottom left of the application. It will allow you to choose what kind of structural options you want to include.
15. Save and send the quote request
Once you are done by designing your shed, you want to click “Save” and then follow up by clicking “Next” icon.
This step will send you an email including the details of your shed building.
16. You will receive a quote by email
Once you complete the fifteenth step, you will see a “Success” message on the website and send you a quote email.
Once you have the email, you can always go back to that email and view your free quote.
This step will send you an email including the free quote for the shed.
